Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln came to visit us today. They were so talkative, and answered many questions. They told stories of how they met, a different time that someone took a shot at Abe while he was out on his horse, as well as a little more history behind their family. Abraham made the children promise to stay in school and get a good education. He insisted that each of the children had the same chance he had, to one day become President of the United States. Mary Todd learned that our own KP is a member of the same family tree! Very cool. You can also see that they both have a terrific sense of humor.
